BODICOTE

Bodicote is a village of attractive dark honey-coloured Hornton stone houses and cottages especially in High Street and East Street although, like in most villages, there is a lot of 20th century housing too which is mostly brick built.

The parish church, the Grade II* listed Church of St. John the Baptist, has existed since at least the 13th century. There used to be a bell tower over the north aisle but this was demolished and replaced with the current west tower when the building was extensively rebuilt in the mid 19th century. Full details of the Church of St. John the Baptist can be found here.

Bodicote House, in White Post Road, is a large Georgian house with a number of Victorian additions. It is now the main office for Cherwell District Council.

Bodicote is about 2 miles south of Banbury just off the A4260 Oxford to Banbury road.
