LITTLE MILTON

Some say that Little Milton is one of South Oxfordshire's most attractive villages with a good number of attractive stone-walled cottages, some of them thatched. Much of the village is off the main road.

At one end of the village is the new village shop and post office which opened in a new building in 2009 and includes a useful coffee shop. Behind the shop and post office there is a playing field and a play area for the young. Also on the site is a playgroup.

In the centre of the village is the C15/C16 manor house, not visible from the road.

On the main road is the Church of St James which was built in 1843/44. The present church was built in 1844 and has a long nave and chancel and tall west tower. For the history and full information about the Church of St James click here.

Some scenes from the popular TV series Midsomer Murders have been filmed in the village of Little Milton.

Little Milton is on the A29, about equidistant between Thame and Wallingford, 3 miles south-west of where the A29 intersects with the M40 at Junction 7.
